Sustainable procurement
The aim is for public procurement to have a significant impact. Our longstanding work on sustainability currently focuses on the piloting of new indicator calculations and the international exchange of experiences.
Sustainability management
One of the main themes of our growth strategy is “Sustainability is our trump card”. We take a broad view of sustainability, and it is an integral part of tendering, the work done during the contract period and reporting.
Materiality assessment
Our sustainability reporting is guided by a materiality assessment. We updated its themes in 2023. Preparedness and security were added as a new theme to the materiality assessment.
Emissions from joint procurement calculated
In 2023, around EUR 1.6 billion worth of goods and services were acquired through our joint procurement procedures. The significant procurement volume results in significant greenhouse gas emissions, and we decided to calculate the emissions of the completed procurement procedures.
Piloting carbon handprint calculation
The carbon handprint describes the reduction in the carbon footprint of a product or service that the user can achieve. We are interested in how much of the potential emission reductions could be attributed to Hansel’s handprint.
Active international cooperation on sustainability
Nordic sustainability cooperation of contracting entities is back on track after a brief dip due to the COVID-19 pandemic. We also cooperated actively in areas such as food procurement at the EU level.
Hansel helps find the perfect partner for a project
The Maaseutuparlamentti event will be held for people interested in the development of the countryside, and thousands are expected to participate on site and offline. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which is organising the event, decided to entrust Hansel with the event’s tendering.
